Modernization of the Jig Boring Machine with a Rotary Converter

Type of the engine installed: engine 2.2 kW, 220 V

The Servo Converter XDC Series was installed on the machine with the following technical specifications:
- rated supply voltage of the power unit – 380 V
- rated output voltage – 220 V
- rated output current 25 А
- analog reference ±10 V
- speed feedback sensor – tachogenerator.

DC motor 220 V, 2.2 kW.

The cross-field rotary Converter with a preamplifier on the electronic lamps was replaced on the Servo Converter XDC Series on this machine.

The reason for replacing the electric drive was the non-repairable tube amplifier. In addition, the electric drive with a Rotary Converter did not provide the required speed range which resulted in a poor quality surface at boring operations at low feed rates.
